Banca Transilvania
OpenShift, from theory to practice.
Hands-on OpenShift training for Banca Transilvania’s technology colleagues, through a learning program organized by Academia BT.
Banca Transilvania / Academia BT
Some of the best conversations happen around a terminal.
Through a program organized by Academia BT, MTD Technology shared its OpenShift experience with Banca Transilvania’s technology colleagues. The sessions brought explanations, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises into the same room.
The focus was practical: how containerized applications are built, deployed, and scaled, and how to understand what happens when something goes wrong.

The learning goal
Make the connection between understanding OpenShift and working with it.
Our contribution
- 01Explain the platform through the lifecycle of a real application
- 02Put concepts into practice through guided labs and troubleshooting
- 03Provide lesson guides and reference material for continued learning
Workshop details
Real skills are built by doing.
The supporting curriculum follows the application lifecycle, from a first deployment to operating and automating workloads. Fundamentals establish the core concepts; advanced and self-paced material take them further.
Fundamentals
Platform architecture, the console and CLI, application deployment, configuration, scaling, and troubleshooting.
Advanced
Storage, networking, deployment strategies, Operators, Helm, and GitOps, with extended material for deeper study.
Four areas of practical learning.
01
Build & deploy
Follow an application from source code or a container image to a running workload. Explore configuration, Secrets, Services, and Routes along the way.
02
Connect & protect
Understand persistent storage, project access, and network policies: how applications keep their data and communicate with one another.
03
Operate & troubleshoot
Explore health checks, resource limits, scaling, logs, and monitoring. Use platform tools to investigate failed deployments and application behavior.
04
Automate delivery
The advanced curriculum introduces Helm, Operators, and Argo CD, connecting repeatable releases with GitOps practices.
Putting the pieces together.
From deployment to diagnosis
Guided labs connect the pieces: deploy a complete application, configure its connections and storage, then investigate image-pull errors, restarting containers, and networking problems.
A path into advanced practice
The learning platform extends the sessions with a repository-to-cluster capstone using Helm and Argo CD, plus exercises in monitoring and alerting.
Beyond the sessions
A foundation to keep building on.
The learning continues beyond the room. A dedicated platform brings together lesson guides, lab instructions, and reference material for revisiting concepts and exploring advanced topics.
